BackgroundEdit

In September 2012, Airi auditioned for avex x 81produce's "Wake Up, Girls! AUDITION" 2nd Anisong Vocal Audition and passed the audition out of over 2,000 entries total. Airi auditioned with the song "Seikan Hikou (Interstellar Flight)" from the anime "Macross Frontier".

In March 2015, all 7 girls won the Special Award at the 9th Seiyuu Awards as the seiyuu idol unit "Wake Up, Girls!"[1]

Personality Edit

Airi has been learning dance since Grade 4 Elementary School. She is one of the best dancers in Wake Up, Girls! and she choreographed the dance to Chikatetsu Labyrinth[2], as well as the choreography of some songs for "Hackadoll the Animation".[3] Airi was also in the badminton club in junior high school, where she won the tournament in her ward.[4]

In high school, Airi read the book "The Sickness Unto Death" by Søren Kierkegaard and decided to continue into university studying philosophy.[5] While in university, she continued to live in Sendai even after passing the audition to "Wake Up, Girls!".[6] She submitted her thesis for graduation at the end of 2014[7], then moved to Tokyo starting in Spring 2015.

Being from the Miyagi prefecture, Airi is a big fan of the local baseball team, Tohoku Rakuten Golden Eagles.
